Glynnis MacNicol is a writer and the author of No One Tells You This: A Memoir (S&S, 2018). Her work has appeared in print and online for publications including The New York Times, The Guardian, The Cut, New York Daily News, W, Town & Country, The Globe & Mail, The Daily Beast, GEN, and ELLE, where she was a contributing writer. She lives in New York City.

In addition to her memoir, MacNicol authored 
Becoming a Baker, part of Simon & Schuster's 'Masters at Work' series. She also co-wrote HelloFlo: The Guide, PERIOD.: The Everything Puberty Book for the Modern Girl (Dutton, 2017), with HelloFlo founder Naama Bloom. With Rachel Sklar, she co-edited and contributed to the best-selling Amazon Kindle essay collection The 10 Habits of Highly Successful Women. Her series of articles for Chase's award-winning "From the Ground Up" package on Brownsville, Brooklyn won a 2015 Contently Award. ​

​Previously, MacNicol was the media editor at Business Insider. During the 2008 election year she was a regular contributor to Playboy.com. She began her media career as the editor of FishbowlNY, prior to that she was an associate editor at the Huffington Post media blog Eat the Press. 

MacNicol has appeared as a guest on numerous podcasts, and spoken frequently on the intersection of media and politics on on Fox News, MSNBC, NBC, CBC, Al Jazeera, and CNN's Reliable Sources.
